What’s the difference?
Ketamine & Spravato® are not the same treatment
Both offer relief for depression and other conditions, but they differ in chemical composition, delivery method, FDA status, and insurance coverage. Understanding these differences helps you choose the right path forward.
Ketamine
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) utilizes a sub-anesthetic dose of ketamine administered via intramuscular injection, subcutaneously, or sub-lingually.
Not FDA approved. Not covered by insurance.
Spravato®
Spravato® is a prescription nasal spray containing esketamine, a derivative of ketamine. It is FDA approved and covered by most insurances.
We are a certified treatment center with three REMS-certified physicians on staff.
