Steve Williams, M.Ed, Professional Counselor Associate (he/him)
Therapist
Steve graduated from Marquette University with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. A 17-year veteran first responder, entrepreneur, and lifelong learner, Steve earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Oregon State University in 2007, a Paramedic degree from Oregon Health and Science University in 2008, and a master’s degree in education from Western Oregon University in 2015.
Steve specializes in working with trauma, grief and mourning, and attachment-related injuries. His clinical work is grounded in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and informed by a parts-based framework rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS). Together, these approaches support clients in understanding how traumatic experiences, losses, and attachment wounds are stored in the nervous system and expressed through emotional patterns, protective responses, and relationship dynamics.
Steve brings his love of learning into the therapeutic environment by blending thoughtful psychoeducation with a trauma-informed and emotion-focused approach. He works collaboratively with clients from a wide range of backgrounds, helping them develop insight, strengthen internal resources, and move toward lasting, meaningful change.
Steve lives in Corvallis with his wife and family. Outside of work, Steve enjoys reading, fly fishing, and golf.
